First time students will need:
- A student violin (or viola) properly sized from a reputable local music store.
- A set of extra strings (in case one breaks)
- rosin (for the bow)….generally comes with a student package
- Applebaum “String Builder” Book 1 for violin
- Suzuki Violin School Book 1 for violin
- A small notebook. (5×7)
Students who are transferring from another teacher or who have been playing in their school orchestra should bring the following:
- Their violin complete with rosin, extra strings and whatever shoulder rest they have been using.
- All music that they are currently playing and any method books they are currently using. We have to know where we have been to know where we are going:)
- A small notebook (5×7)
- Your child will be asked to play a selection they feel comfortable playing so that I can observe their technique.
- You may or may not have to purchase additional books based on what I observe at the initial lesson.
